Yaucoño

I recently received a negative post from an Author of one of the books listed on the books page of Yauco City website. He recently commented on Facebook ridiculing my choice of the name Yauco City, claiming the combination of the name was gramatical gibberish and didn’t understand its meaning. Having read his book from cover to cover I found his comments disheartening. His book was one of the inspirations for the creation of Yauco City. Having embarked on this journey I understand the value of knowing my history is priceless, and find myself grateful to him for creating a historical archive of my town and its people. To him I say this Yauco City stands for a new generation of Yaucanos with innovative ideas to help promote Yauco’s tourism and stimulate its economy. That even when we find ourselves hundreds of miles from home we look for ways to help improve the economic conditions, faced back at home by our families and friends. Above all Yauco City is a space where all Yaucanos are included and supported and all ideas are invited and celebrated.
